TOWN OF AMENIA ROUTE 44 SIDEWALK EXTENSION PROJECT
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Receipt of Bids: Sealed Bids on forms prepared by the Engineer will be received by the Town of Amenia until 2:00 p.m. (local time) on October 8, 2026, for the Reconstruction/Completion of Route 44 Sidewalk, in accordance with the Drawings, Specifications, and other Contract Documents prepared by LaBella Associates, D.P.C., 21 Fox Street, Poughkeepsie, New York, 12601.
Sealed Bids will be publicly opened and read at 2:30 p.m. (local time) on October 8, 2026 at the offices of the Town of Amenia Conference Room, 4988 NY-22, Amenia, New York 12501. Bid submissions will include two (@) hard copies and one (1) electronic copy of ALL required documents as per the specifications. The information for Bidders, Drawings, Specifications and other Contract Documents may be obtained from the Town of Amenia Town Clerk becoming available on September 23, 2026 upon payment of a deposit of $50.00 per set. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose name and address are on record of having obtained the Contract Documents. The deposit shall be in check form and shall be drawn payable to “Town of Amenia”.
The deposit for each set will be refunded upon return of the Contract Documents to the Owner in unmarked and good condition not later than fifteen (15) days following the opening of Bids.
Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable form of Bid Guarantee in an amount equal to at least five (5) percent of the amount of the Bid payable to the Town of Amenia as a guarantee that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will, within fifteen (15) days after the award of the Contract, execute the Contract and file acceptable Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds and Certificate(s) of Insurance.
OWNERS RIGHTS RESERVED: The Town of Amenia, hereinafter called the Owner, reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any informality or technicality in any Bid in the interest of the Owner.
STATEMENT OF NON-COLLUSION: Bidders on Contracts are required to execute a non-collusive bidding affidavit pursuant to Section 103d of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York.
Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirement as to conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract.
Bidders are also required to comply with the provisions of Section 291-299 of the Executive Law of the State of New York.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty-five (35) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
Subject to the provisions of Article 28, Part III of the New York State Tax Law and the provisions of the Contract Documents, the Owner is exempt from payment of sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York and cities and counties on all materials supplied to the Owner pursuant to this contract.
The Town of Amenia hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the ground of race, gender, color or national origin in consideration of an award.
