Plus One ADU Application is now OPEN for eligible homeowners in Amenia

Plus One ADU Application is now OPEN for eligible homeowners in Amenia and across all participating Dutchess County municipalities.

The Plus One ADU Program provides grants of up to $125,000 (including up to $112,500 in direct construction assistance) and technical assistance to homeowners at or under 120% AMI of Dutchess County to create new accessory dwelling units (ADUs) like attached or detached apartments to your home or bring existing units up to code. Support includes help with planning, design, and construction.

Homeowners will complete a pre-screening tool first to determine basic eligibility. If eligible, they will be encouraged to read the Plus One ADU Fact Sheet, available immediately after the screening, to understand the program in greater detail. Applicants should then return to the pre-application form and complete it as thoroughly as possible.

  • The applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
  • Once an applicant submits the pre-application, Hudson River Housing will review it and respond within 10 business days.
  • If they meet the minimum program criteria, they will be invited to complete the second section of the application, which includes more in-depth project information.
