|Welcome to Amenia! Our many unique and individual hamlets make up our one town and our unique and individual residents enrich your time here. From baseball to cricket - farming to horticulture - fly fishing to enjoying our local aquaponically raised trout while dining out. You'll find something that speaks to you here in the Town of Amenia.|
|We're located in north east Dutchess County, New York and between Amenia, Wassaic, South Amenia, Leedsville, Smithfield Valley, Amenia Union and South Amenia, we have a population of 4,436 as of the 2010 census. The name is derived from the Latin word, amoena, which means "pleasant to the eye" and you'll find that's true especially in our many vistas, views and parklands.|
|Whether you're coming up on the Metro North Railroad Harlem line to Ten Mile River or Wassaic for the weekend (we're less than 2 hours from NY City), or driving down from upstate and New England for our special events, we welcome you to our home.
